Mrs. Arminta Goben, wife of the honored Elder Jesse J. Goben, died on Friday, Sept. 22nd, aged 71 years and a few months. Mrs. Goben was born April 11, 1811 in Kentucky. Almost 53 years ago she was married to her surviving husband and started through the wilds on horseback with him in a bridal tour to her new and future hoosier home. Some years ago Mrs. Goben made a request of Elder Whitlock of Vigo County to preach her funeral sermon, which he did on Saturday afternoon at which time the funeral occured. Burial in Lee Cemetery at Smartsburg, Indiana. Sept. 28, 1882.
Note: Arminta was the daughter of William Plunkett. She married Jesse Goben 8 Dec 1829. - kbz
